The fire retardant compound haven’t lost its properties. Due to the hygroscopic properties of the compound it is necessary to completely deplete the package. But if the compound is caked, it is recommended to dissolve it in warm or hot water.

Hello! I have a question about the fire-retardant powder OBEREG-OB (Standard). Why the consumption rate of the dry compound per square meter was greater than it is now? Why the consumption rate has been decreased, but the composition of the fire-retardant compound has not changed? Is the consumption rate specified in the certificate-manual mandatory, or it is the recommendation only? Thank you in advance!

Dear Sergey! Since April 26, 2012 the fire-retardant impregnation OBEREG-OB is manufactured according to the new technical specifications with a fundamentally new formulation. The effectiveness of compound has been confirmed by the certificate of conformance and test report. As for the consumption standards recommended in the certificate, we can provide the following information. During examination of the fire-retardant effectiveness of the compound (according to GOST 53292-2009), the tests are carried out using the samples with average characteristics (dried, fineline wood). For the qualitative treatment of specific objects it is necessary to change the amount of working solution applied in accordance with the wood condition. The standards recommended in the certificate have been obtained by an experimental approach and confirmed by periodic tests. If it is not possible to observe the recommended consumption rates, it may lead to the wood treatment of insufficient quality and reduction of the guaranteed life of protection.
