For operation under conditions of negative temperatures it is necessary to use the paint in the winter version (in the product catalog such paints are referred to as "version 2"). As the solvent in such paints we use the acetone or coal-tar solvent. Hello! We have an administrative and office facilities in which the corridor is finished with the conventional medium density fiberboard panels. In accordance with the safety regulations such panels are not allowed, that should be fireproof. Which compound shall be used to treat the panels in order to comply with all fire protection norms? Is it possible to apply varnish independently or varnish application shall be carried out by the organization with special license?

Hello! In accordance with the Federal Law ФЗ-123, the materials used to finish the escape routes must have the fire hazard class no lower than KM2 (Г1, В2, Д2, T2, РП1 - Table 3). To ensure these requirements it is necessary to treat the panels with the fire-retardant varnish VARNISH-BSP. Please note that due to different quality of the medium density fiberboard panels it is necessary to paint the control area prior to commencement of works. After drying of varnish it is necessary to control the quality of adhesion and coating integrity. The fire-retardant treatment shall be carried out by the organization with the license of the Ministry for Civil Defense, Emergency Management and Natural Disasters Response with the right to perform these works.
