How many layers of "OBEREG-OB-YANTAR" compound shall be applied to achieve the degree of wood fire protection specified in the fire safety certificate?

Answer
The number of layers to be applied depends on the surface inclination, degree of humidity and wood treatment, availability of previous wood treatment, etc. (see the certificate for compound). In the most common case it is enough to use 1-2 layers for the 2nd group of fire protection and 2-3 layers for the 1st group.

Answer
Yes, but it is not the common one: "powder impregnations" (dry water soluble compounds) and "liquid impregnations" (ready-to-use solutions or concentrated compounds supplied in the liquid form).

What is the difference between "liquid" and "powder" impregnation?

Answer
Almost all the "powder" impregnations are usually applied in the attics and other "closed" premises, as the wood appearance after complete drying out of compound can not be considered aesthetically pleasing, but absolute (per kg) and "unit" (per square meter) price of the "powder" impregnations is much lower than that of the "liquid" ones. The "liquid" impregnations are usually more expensive than the "powder" ones, but are also more effective and designed mainly for the treatment of "visible" surfaces. The fundamental differences between the “liquid” and "powder" impregnations is that the main fire-retardant component after application on the wood enters into the "prolonged" chemical reaction with the basic components of wood - pulp and lignin. As a result of reaction the impregnation components are much "stronger" on the wood than the dried salts, for example.
