The Governor of Novosibirsk expressed concern about the situation with fires in the residential sector in the region
Novosibirsk Governor Andrei Travnikov said that the death toll from fires in the residential sector in the region remains at a high level.

"Despite the great preventive work that we are doing, I want to say that we have not changed the situation," he said at an operational meeting in the regional government on Monday.

He noted that although the number of fires had decreased by 100 cases since the beginning of the autumn-winter season — in October and November, they had killed as many people as a year earlier — about 40 people.

He stressed that in the coming weeks the frost is expected to increase in the region, which makes the problem of fires in the residential sector particularly acute.
